JSC “Latvijas Gaze”, Latvia

Inchukalns Underground Gas Storage Modification.

Latvijas Gaze is in the process of upgrading and expanding the Inchukalns underground gas storage. This facility offsets shortage of natural gas in winter season for consumers in Latvia as well as in neighboring countries.

World Energy Services, Inc. (WES) and its sister company, Basic Systems, Inc. (Basic) have been participating in the various stages of preliminary studies of facility modification since 1999. Various options and scopes were evaluated andoffered to the Customer for consideration. In the beginning of 2003, along with the prime contractor for this project, Solar Turbines International, Inc, we were awarded a contract to supply compressor unit auxiliary equipment for first phase of the reconstruction.

All equipment was manufactures in accordance with regulations and standards of Latvia. Equipment deliveries were completed in November of 2003. The Contract presented an excellent opportunity for widening international experience and Eastern Hemisphere project implementation practice.

VNIIGAZ, Russia

International Grant.

December 2003 – ACI Services, Inc., a member of The BSI Group of Companies, located in Derwent, Ohio has been awarded a grant from the Russian Federation of Industry, Science and Technology (MIST) and CRDF. This grant will be used to offset costs in the development of integrating proprietary compressor performance predictions. The final software package, tentatively entitled IPASS: Integrated Performance-Acoustic Simulation Software, will allow companies, such as natural gas suppliers, the ability to move and compress safely more gas at lower costs.

Success in securing this grant was the culmination of years of working with Russia. In fact, The Group has an entire company, World Energy, dedicated to working with governments and end-users in Europe and Asia. Jack Youngs, the founder of The BSI Group of Companies, has invested over twenty years in developing personal and professional relationships with many key persons in the natural gas industry in Former CIS countries, Poland and Yugoslavia. The Group’s proven skill in working with international interests was an important factor in CRDF’s decision to award this grant. World Energy was instrumental in working with the Russia Federation (international protocols, technical translations and negotiations) in bringing the grant process to fruition.

Dr. Vladimir Zasetskiy of VNIIGAZ, a division of GAZPROM (the largest natural gas company in the world) will be the main Russian scientist working with Dwayne A. Hickman of ACI in co-developing the new IPASS software. The Russian participants will provide their algorithms and methodologies, while the American participants will supply proprietary compressor performance predictions algorithms and methodologies as well as integration of the two methods into a single, cohesive software package.

JSC “Vnipigazdobicha”, Russia

Gas Conditioning Facility.

In March of 2004, WES has signed a contract with Russian engineering company “Vnipigasdobicha” to prepare front-end engineering design package for gas dehydration facility in Russia.

Vnipigazdobicha is the leading research and design company in oil and gas production of Russia. The majority of design work developed by Vnipigasdobicha is for Gazprom, one of the largest gas operators in the world.

During the course of the project, WES specialists had an opportunity to visit the Customer in Russia as well as to host Gazpom/Vnipigazdobicha’s delegation in Ohio. Customer’s specialsts had visited existing facility, designed by US team. Design was done in English and Russian. This project has widened our experience of working with Russian design institutes and enforced our unique position among global contractors.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd., Japan

Modular Skid Design and Manufacturing.

In the beginning of 2004, the manufacturing division of Bi-Con was awarded a contract to engineer and manufacture the slurry feed system skid for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd, Japan. This project was a direct result of joint effort of three companies from The BSI Group: World Energy Services, Inc. (WES) Bi-Con Services, Inc. (Bi-Con) and Basic Systems, Inc. (Basic). Engineering and equipment procurement for the project was completed by Basic. Bi-Con has furnished all materials, completed manufacturing and testing.

Skid manufacturing is one of our specialties. Among our Customers are such companies as Rolls Royce, Babcock & Wilcox. Co., Dresser-Rand, Holt Power Systems, Equitrans. In 1995, two lube oil consoles were manufactured and shipped to end0user in Russia.

The contract scope was successfully completed. The team worked hard to complete this project as scheduled. Dedication and team spirit made The BSI Group of Companies well-recognized domestic and international service provider.

Ukrgazdobicha, Ukraine

Shebelinka Gas Refinery.

June 2004 – World Energy Services, Inc. has completed the delivery of another order of spare parts and consumables for Shebelinka Gas Refinery, Ukraine. This is a successful continuation of trustworthy relations established with our Ukrainian Client over 10 years ago. In 1995-1996 our sister company, Basic Systems, Inc. provided engineering and supplied all equipment and materials for Catalytic Reforming addition at the Refinery. This project was brought on-line in 1997. Since commissioning, our companies worked with our Client on various aspects of supporting successful operation of the facility. We are very pleased to continue our association with Ukrgazdobicha of Naftogaz of Ukraine.
